United Papermakers International Union records, 1906-1984.

The collection consist of records of the United Paperworkers International Union (UPIU) and its predecessor unions, from 1906-1984. Includes primarily periodicals, proceedings, and pamphlets that describe the activities of the UPIU at the national level. The proceedings consist of convention reports of the AFL (1930-1955), the AFL-CIO (1973-1983), International Brotherhood of Pulp, Sulphite, and Paper Mill Workers of America (1948-1957), the United Papermakers and Paperworkers (1957-1969), and the United Paperworkers International Union (1972-1984). The collection also contains some correspondence (1967), minutes of the International Brotherhood of Pulp, Sulphite, and Paper Mill Workers (1906-1907), printed material (1908, 1973-1984), and an unpublished manuscript entitled A GROUP OF MEN: 1884-1900 (ca. 1948), which describes the formation of the International Brotherhood of Paper Makers.
